Our Mission

Submittal Services provides expert solutions for obtaining material handling permits. We have built strong relationships with jurisdictions around the country, and keep a detailed database of city-specific requirements. With the foundation of a family business, dedication to maintaining ethical business practices and a proven success rate, Submittal Services makes the expert execution of permits their number one priority.

The permit process can be very challenging for those who are new to it, so it is our goal to assume that burden for our clients. Now more than ever, having the support of an experienced permit management team on your side is an educated business decision. With the confidence and resources to obtain your permits and help you meet your deadlines as painlessly as possible, you can free up your time and energy for bigger and better things.

While every jurisdiction is different, Submittal Services will always request an expedited review process whenever available and will keep you informed every step of the way. Plan check times can range from 10 working days to 6 weeks for initial review, and half that time for a secondary review if necessary. Whenever possible, over the counter appointments will be scheduled to further expedite the process.

Efficient permit management depends heavily on accurate project information. Completing this worksheet provides us with all of the information we need to conduct detailed research with the governing jurisdiction, complete all necessary applications and generate a professional project data cover sheet to accompany your permit package. It also gives you the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the terminology and requirements that may be needed for successful execution of your project.

Every project will require a fully dimensioned building layout that clearly identifies the scope of work.

Most projects will require an architectural site plan that shows an overview of the building with parking lot and major cross streets.

Some jurisdictions will require an egress drawing showing the path of travel and travel distances from the area of work to the nearest exits.

Depending on your scope of work, you may need a high piled storage report to show compliance with current Fire Code standards. You may also be asked to supply proof of adherence to current ADA (handicap accessibility) codes in the form of architectural drawings.

While many of these drawings should be available as part of the building permit set of drawings, Seizmic and Submittal Services have an extensive network of expert resources that are prepared to help you either find or generate these drawings if need be.

The International Building Code (IBC) states that no building or structure regulated by this code shall be erected, constructed, enlarged, altered, repaired, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished unless separate permits for each building or structure have first been obtained.

Our History

Submittal Services was incorporated in 2005. Prior to that, Seizmic offered their own expertise to secure permits for their customers. As the demand for and intricacies of obtaining material handling permits grew, Seizmic established Submittal Services, a separate entity dedicated to permit management and capable of handling projects in all 50 states.
